Concert and lecture to highlight Antillean music
POSTED: 03/19/12 12:32 PMSt. Maarten – Foundation Classical Delight hosts a concert and lecture over two nights in the final week of March. The concert will be at Belair Community Center on March 28 and the lecture will be at the library on March 29.
The two events, which are aimed at raising awareness of the heritage and history of Antillean music, are supported by the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund for the Caribbean. The concert will be done by Wim Statius Muller – a composer and pianist from Curacao – and the lecture will be done by Jan Brokken who is a well known writer from the Netherlands.
