The frustration of former PSS-director Denicio Richardson about the government’s decision to appeal the court ruling that would have given him close to a quarter of a million dollars in compensation for all the injustices he has been put through, is understandable.
On the other hand – this is how the justice system works. If someone – no matter who it is – disagrees with a verdict, there is a possibility to appeal. That’s just the way it is.
That the government is using taxpayers’ money for these legal battles is a given. Only the electorate is able to punish politicians for these actions, and that opportunity will arise in just a couple of months.
Richardson will therefore simply have to wait until justice has run its course, no matter how clear the ruling by the Court in First Instance seems to be.
