St. Maarten – The Court in First Instance reopened the investigation into the involvement of Rodriguez W. in the murders of Miquel Torres Cleman (21) and Antoine McKenzie Whit (25) on December 9 of last year near the Son Latino nightclub on Illidge Road.

Judge Koos van de Ven rules that the investigation is not complete and that he wants to hear three witnesses before he is ready to pronounce a verdict. The three witnesses – two police officers and a 35-year-old man from the Dominican Republic – are expected to testify in the case on January 10 of next year.

At the trial on October 9, the prosecution demanded 18 years of imprisonment against Rodriguez W. The defendant reported voluntarily to the police the day after the killings. He claims that he was forced to drive the killers with his car to the French side, but the prosecution does not believe him.
