Seven teams compete in Super Splash competition

St. Maarten – Swimmers in the male and female categories are expected to strive for excellence when the third annual Super Splash Sprint Meet takes place at the Caribbean International Academy C.I.A in Cupecoy this upcoming Saturday and Sunday.

The event which will be hosted by the St Maarten Super Splash Swimming Team will see swimmers from the Stingrays of Statia, Statia Leatherbacks, C.I.A Swim Team, Lab Sports Swim Team, Franky’s Swim Team, Carib Swim Team and the Super Splash Swim team going head to head in the 25, 50, 100 and 200 meters events.

The organizers are anticipating two days of explosive swimming. Volunteers from St. Dominic High School will help with the smooth running of the events. The students involved in the exercise will be capitalizing on the opportunity to gain hours for their community service program.

The meet starts on Saturday with an opening line up at 9.15 a.m. after which the competition will start at 9.35 a.m.; on Sunday the competing swimmers will start at 8.30 a.m. The organizers aims at finishing around 2 p.m. on both days.
