St. Maarten – Owners from boats from as far away as Anguilla and Saba put their boats in dry dock ahead of Tropical Storm Isaac’s arrival.

When the Today visited Bobby’s Marina early yesterday morning, at least 10 boats had already been secured on dry land and several others were lined up and waiting to be removed by the boat hoist which has the capacity to lift boats up to 90 tons.

Diamond 1, a boat that is registered in Anguilla rests precariously between the twin booms of the boat hoist during the early stages of the operation which started as early as Tuesday. Milton Pieters Photo.

Boats lined up bow to stern awaiting removal to dry land ahead of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Crew members of Diamond 1, place steel plates on the windows of the boat just before it was removed to dry land.
