PM: swearing in new St. Maarten government on Monday
POSTED: 05/18/12 1:28 PMSt. Maarten – Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams expects that the new government will be ready for a swearing in ceremony on Monday. In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Prime Minister’s office said that the names of candidate-ministers had been submitted and that they are now awaiting the result of the screening process.
While the Prime Minister indicated that it would “not be appropriate” to formally release the names of the candidates, today already reported a week ago, on Saturday May 12, that three ministers will remain in office: Prime Minister Wescot-Williams, Justice Minister Roland Duncan and Public Health Minister Cornelius de Weever. The candidate for the Ministry of
Economic Affairs is Romeo Pantophlet; for education, Sylveria Jacobs; for Finance, Roland Tuitt; for Vromi, William Marlin.
The rumored candidate for Minister Plenipotentiary is Roy Marlin, but so far, this newspaper has not been able to get this confirmed.
