St. Maarten – “The passion in the eyes of your children; that is why Rado has chosen to open its first boutique store in the Americas here in St. Maarten.” Those were the words of the President of Rado U.S.A. Robert Brennan at Friday’s official opening of a Rado Boutique Store on Front Street. The boutique is housed in Joe’s Jewelry International and the opening is the culmination of nearly two years of discussion, which Brennan and Joe’s Jewelry International’s Chief Operating Officer Adesh Baharani believe has culminated in the “perfect marriage.”

“We are proud you have chosen St.Maarten and we are proud you have chosen Joe’s Jewelry International. We now look forward to a successful partnership,” Baharani said.

“This is a testament to your island,” Brennan said on his turn.

Earlier in the evening the senior Rado figure said Rado had chosen St. Maarten because it offered the perfect location and that Joes Jewelry allowed them to create a store within a store and has staff that know and love the Rado brand.

“We want to make this one of our most successful stores and help it gain visibility. We believe that St. Maarten is a gateway and customers can be assured of a worldwide warranty and service that is consistent as we maintain a worldwide philosophy,” Brennan said.

“Tonight we are celebrating three things. We celebrate this boutique. We celebrate our newest product and we celebrate St. Maarten,” the Rado president added.

The new product Brennan speaks of is the company’s new ceramic watch, which is the thinnest on the market at less than5 millimetersthick.

“This watch solidifies Rado’s position as an expert on ceramics. It’s the ultimate comfort and proves that at Rado we see challenges and we find solutions. This is also proving that the brands that exist worldwide are the ones that are staying strong and being strengthened,” Brennan said.

Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams and Deputy Prime Minister Theodore Heyliger were the two senior government figures that congratulated both Rado and Joe’s Jewelry International on the opening of the boutique.

“That special thing about St. Maarten, which offers the best, is no doubt why you have come and you will never be sorry you chose St. Maarten,” Wescot-Williams said in a comment directed at Brennan.

More broadly she said, “We hope this will be an example. Your commitment is proof of your dedication and together we will work at it.”

The deputy prime minister considers the opening of the boutique proof that the government has and will continue to create a conducive environment that will attract brand name companies to establish boutique shops here.

“We congratulate you on your foresight and vision,” Heyliger said.
