Ed Arre launches new novel at Roland Richardson galleryPOSTED: 03/7/11 12:03 PM
MARIGOT – St. Maarten-based novelist Ed Arre will launch his fourth book, Rapacious, during a cocktail reception and book signing at the Roland Richardson Gallery, # 6 Rue de la Republique, in Marigot this Wednesday evening from 6.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Arre said the event location is appropriate to the theme of his novel, island images. “Although the action takes place on the fictional island of St. Gregory, readers are sure to recognize many familiar characters and locations. What better place to launch Rapacious than at the Richardson Gallery with its rich abundance of images of our island and its people.”
Arre explained that another interesting element of the story is the inclusion of Mr. Danny Ramchandani, head of Prime Distributors, as a supporting character in the story. Mr. Ramchandani had generously submitted the highest bid during the auction at last year’s
Childfest banquet where Arre had donated the character.
‘It was a great challenge and also great fun to include Danny in the story. Hopefully I have captured the significant characteristics of the man and portrayed him and his actions in the story in a manner consistent with real life.’
Arre is a retired former journalist and marketing consultant; he is writing fiction full-time. He and his wife divide their time between St. Maarten and London.
The books will be on sale at the Richardson Gallery in Marigot, the At Book Ends shop in the Palapa Center, Karacter Beach Restaurant in Simpson Bay and numerous other locations on both sides of the island.
